Saans supports everyday care routines but does not diagnose or treat medical conditions.

Saans was intentionally designed with privacy at its core. Your health information is deeply personal, which is why Saans is built to ensure you remain in control of it. Most information entered into the app stays locally on your device and is not transmitted to Saans servers.

1. Data Collection & Storage

Saans does not collect, store, or transmit your personal health information to Saans-operated servers. Information you choose to enter—including symptoms, medications, breathing exercise records, and profile information—remains stored locally on your device.

Because Saans does not maintain servers for personal health information, information entered into the application remains available only on your device unless included within your own device backups.

2. Use of Information

Information stored within Saans is used only to:

  • Display health timelines and records.
  • Help organise medications and care routines.
  • Track progress within breathing exercises.
  • Allow you to review and manage information you choose to record.

3. Location and Environmental Information

Your approximate location is used strictly to fetch local air quality and weather forecasts. If permission is granted, coordinates are sent anonymously to a public API (Open-Meteo) solely to retrieve environmental data. No personal identifiers, names, account details, or health information are ever shared or transmitted.

Location access is completely optional, and you can revoke location permission at any time through iOS Settings.

4. Notification Permissions

If you choose to enable notifications, Saans may send reminders related to medications, care routines, or other health-management activities that you configure within the application.

These notifications are intended solely to support everyday organisation and self-management.

Notification schedules are generated from information stored on your device. Saans does not use notifications for advertising, promotional purposes, or behavioural tracking.

You can disable notifications at any time through iOS Settings.

Why reminders matter

Managing COPD often involves maintaining routines over long periods of time. Medication and care reminders are designed to reduce uncertainty and support consistency in everyday care.

5. Microphone & Speech Processing

If you choose to enable microphone access, it is used strictly during breathing exercises to detect voice commands (such as "Next") for hands-free navigation.

Audio data is processed entirely on your device using Apple's on-device Speech Recognition framework. No audio is recorded, stored, or transmitted to any servers.

Microphone access is entirely optional, and you can disable it at any time through iOS Settings.

6. Additional Transparency

Saans does not use advertising trackers, third-party analytics services, or technologies designed to monitor your activity across other applications or websites.

Saans does not require the creation of an account to use its core features.

Because Saans does not rely on behavioural tracking or advertising systems, your use of the app remains private and focused solely on supporting your care routines.

Saans is intended to support organisation, education, and everyday self-management related to COPD care.

It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, or replace professional medical advice.

Always consult a qualified healthcare professional regarding medical concerns or emergencies.

7. Your Rights

Because your information remains local to your device, you maintain ultimate control over it.

You may remove locally stored information at any time by deleting the application from your device. You may also revoke optional permissions, such as location access, through iOS Settings, and you may choose not to provide optional information requested by the application.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Saans may update this Privacy Policy over time. These updates may reflect improvements to the application or changes in applicable requirements.

The updated versions will always be accessible through the Saans website.
